Tal is actually local to Marin unlike the "local locksmith" results that pop up when you google a locksmith. After waiting 50 minutes from a "local" locksmith who said he was 30 minutes away, I called them back to find out they were now 24 minutes away. I found Tal who said his technician would be here in 20 minutes and even after hours, he arrived in exactly 20 minutes. Their service is incredible, they are extremely professional and I can't thank them enough. Save yourself the frustration and call Tal first.The other locksmith service called me 1 hour after Tal arrived to ask whether their guy showed up yet which tells you all you need to know about those afterhours services.

I needed some keys made and Tal-Niv Locksmith Services is AMAZING. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. attentive too! They also do certain car keys and will ensure the key works before they charge you. Our ""key guy"" made copies quickly and effectively. They also told us to bring back the key they made if it doesn’t work for any reason. They are one of the best 24 hour locksmiths in San Rafael.I’m going to come back here anytime I need keys, which isn’t often, but still. I had a great experience.

I have been using Tal-Niv Locksmith Services for about 4 years. It is really easy to get a duplicate key made in a few minutes at any of their kiosks. I recently copied my house keys after a move, and they worked on the locks they were supposed to. The keys are saved for future use, which I have already used and found very convenient. Tal-Niv Locksmith Services was pricey, but super convenient. I couldn't make it to a real store within store hours, so this was a great solution for me. It was pretty quick, no longer than a key store. They have a great selection of designs if you can wait 3–4 days for shipping. They have standard blanks (and a few designs) in the machine if you need one right away. I highly recommend them for auto locksmith services.

Tal-Niv definitely deserves five stars. I was at my wits end trying to get a remote fob key replacement for my Subaru Crosstrek. The dealer wanted $450.00, several days turn around, and a future appointment to program it. The store front locksmith couldn't do it. So glad I found Tal-Niv through the internet! Really nice guy and he knows his stuff! I went to his shop with my Toyota wanting to get a new valet key made. He was super fast and nice. Tal cut the key and programmed it while I waited - maybe it took 20 minutes total from the time I walked into the shop to the time I drove away and he made 3 keys for me 2 of which he had to program. I highly recommend him!

I needed to have an old broken lock to my apartment replaced and Tal-Niv Locksmith Services located here in San Rafael sent out a service repairman Named Thomas G. who arrived at my apartment faster than I expected and he completed the job within a very short-time. BEWARE!!!i called this locksmith company to repair the lock in an office door. On the phone, the locksmith told me the cost would be a $75. service charge plus labor and materials. After 45 minutes, the locksmith repaired the lock. He then presented his bill. It was $516.00! I asked for a breakdown. He said there was a $75. TRAVEL FEE PLUS a $300.00 SERVICE FEE plus labor and materials. The locksmith told me $80. an hour after he had finished the job, then in five minutes raised it to $100. an hour! I pointed out that NO ONE had mentioned a $300. service fee on the phone, and that if they had, I would NOT have agreed to have that locksmith do the work! So that was DISHONEST. I asked for his license number as a locksmith, he said his boss had it but he didnt. But then he said the license number was on a business card in his car. I asked him to get it. BEFORE he went to get it, he IMMEDIATELY offered to drop the $300. service charge. He did NOT give me the license number.You need to get a WRITTEN ESTIMATE from this company before they do any work!!!

We were moving into our first home and got locked out on the first day. I called Thomas and was told $55 for a service call (home lockout) and it might be a bit more if it’s a "tricky" lock. 15 minutes of failed lock picking followed by 5 minutes of drilling. Then he demanded $325. He clearly performed a bait-and-switch, and it sure feels like a SCAM.$325 for 15 minutes of failed skill, followed by a drill to the lock. Beautiful.Then he tells me he’ll waive the tax. He's a liar too because there is no tax for services. If there were, the government wouldn't be happy to hear that he is offering to waive taxes.
